Hello Randzy fans and welcome all newcomers. We hope that you’re all taking care of yourselves. 😷 Due to recent events and the warnings of the Coronavirus, we have all been advised to stay home.
Now, we’re sure you know this already, but why not make it fun family time? 👪
Are you unsure of what to do to keep the kiddos occupied and entertained while staying home? Good thing you’re here – let’s dive into some fun things to do with kids at home!
1. Make Slime
Slime is a timeless activity. Prepare your kids, and possibly yourself, for hours of fun creating your very own DIY slime.
We have 3 varieties to choose from Galaxy slime, Unicorn slime and Sequin slime.
2. Arts and Crafts
With so many different arts & crafts projects you can do at home, there are endless possibilities of what you and the kids can create together. 🎨
From Easter-themed activities to regular, fun arts and crafts, you’ll be busy all day working on fun stuff together. If you’re looking for easy and ready-to-go Easter crafts, try our DIY Egg Painting Kit for R45 or our super cute DIY Egg Hunt Baskets which are R39 each.
Fancy a bit of fun that’ll last for days? Introducing our Growing Grass Head, just add water and watch them grow! 🌱 A truly exciting project for the kids to be responsible for.
3. Movie Night 🎬
After a long day of activities, it’s time to settle down. Try making a routine movie night to wind down with the kids and have the whole family in one room together – no phones allowed!
If you have more than one child, give them turns to choose a movie each week or day.
4. Encourage Reading/Studying
One of the best ways to pass time and enjoy it is by reading. Encourage your kids, and yourself, to get stuck into a few good books. If you can’t convince them to read, suggest they focus on something they enjoy.
Ask your kids what interests them, what they like and study it together. No, we don’t mean the boring kind of school studying, but rather basic research and reading on topics that interest them to broaden their knowledge and understanding of it. You can also quiz each other on your new knowledge.
5.Baking
Aah! Baking on a cool autumn day with no rush to get it done? Yes, please! Baking with the family is a fun way to get the kids involved in the kitchen.🍪
This can also be made a learning experience as you teach them the mathematics of measuring, and the science of combining ingredients to create a reaction to get a result. After all, baking is science!
6. Play a Family Question Game
Do you ever feel like your children don’t know you well enough or you’d like to know more about them? Play a question game!
Take turns to each ask each other simple questions to learn more about each other. Try this cute and interactive family game idea or get ideas from this list of fun questions.
